The EU Digital Finance Strategy is the European Commission’s policy framework, adopted in 2020, for enabling digital transformation of the EU financial sector while managing the associated risks. It sets out priorities including removing fragmentation in the digital single market, adapting the EU regulatory framework to facilitate digital innovation, promoting data-driven finance, and addressing digital operational resilience. The strategy provided the policy basis for subsequent EU regulations governing crypto-assets, such as MiCA.
